There is always something happening in the Phoenix area. Traditional annual events or festivals are going on all year in all Valley of the Sun Metro Phoenix communities. Following are just a sampling of the major events. Schedules and dates are subject to change without notice, so check the event websites for the latest information. February Events
Arabian Horse Show
Held annually at Westworld in Scottsdale, it showcases nearly 2000 horses bringing top owners, trainers and breeders from around the world to compete in a variety of events.
Arizona Renaissance Festival
A medieval amusement park, a 12-stage theater, a 30-acre circus, an arts and crafts fair, a jousting tournament and a feast -- all rolled into one non-stop, day-long family adventure!
Arizona Travel Show
Local, national and international travel industry representatives offer travel information's, packages and services for families. Food and live music add to the enjoyment of the day.
Fountain Hills Great Fair
This three day juried art fair features nearly 450 artists and artisans from across the United States and around the globe, and attracts 200,000+ visitors.
Lost Dutchman's Days
Carnival, Rodeo, BLM Wild Horse and Burro Adoption, Vendor Marketplace, Live Entertainment. Held at the Apache Junction Rodeo Park at Lost Dutchman and Tomahawk.
Scottsdale Fine Art & Chocolate Festival
Stroll through the Scottsdale Fine Art & Chocolate Festival at the Scottsdale Pavilions and you will instantly enjoy the sweet scent of chocolate as it fills the desert air.
Sportsmen's Vacation & RV Show

March Events
Arizona Aloha Festival
Marketplace and Lath House stages are filled with performing groups from Arizona and surrounding states. Guest artist groups have joined us from Hawaii, New Zealand, and the Cook Islands.
Cactus League Baseball
Spring training games held in the Phoenix and Tucson area include the Angels, Diamondbacks, Cubs, White Sox, Rockies, Royals, Brewers, Athletics, Giants, Padres, Mariners and Rangers.
Carefree Fine Arts & Wine Festival
This event, presented by Thunderbird Artists and the Fountain Hills Downtown Business Community, will be the setting for a world-class gathering of juried artists displaying original pieces of art.
Festival of the West
Family was important in the old west and that focus is carried on at The National Festival of the West. Friday is kids day and there are plenty of great children's activities held every day at the Festival.
Ostrich Festival
The festival is a three-day family event which includes ostrich events and more than 150 exhibitors selling a fantastic array of arts, crafts, goods, and services in a festive environment.
Parada del Sol Parade & Rodeo
a full month of western themed events including the Parada del Sol Parade, Trail’s End Celebration in Old Town Scottsdale, the Kid's Corral Art Show, art unveiling, 5 rodeos and 2 rodeo dances.
Safeway LPGA Tournament
This annual LPGA event is held at Superstition Mountain Golf and
Country Club — Prospector Course featuring many of the biggest names in ladies professional golf.
Tempe Music Festival
This annual event features local and nationally acclaimed bands together for two days of live music with food vendors and more on the shores of Tempe Town Lake.
West of Western Culinary Festival
West of Western Culinary Festival was founded to celebrate Arizona's Chefs and culinary culture. Come sample excellent dishes from the top chefs in the southwest.
April Events
Arizona Asian Festival
This free festival features ethnic cuisine, arts and crafts, and such diverse entertainment as martial arts demonstrations, cultural dances and music from nearly a dozen Asian countries.
Country Thunder Music Festival
This four-day, outdoor country music festival brings together top country entertainers for music and dancing southeast of Phoenix in Florence.
Desert Caballeros Horse Ride
The Desert Caballeros week-long horse ride attracts men from all over the world and all walks of life. This scenic and memorable adventure has been a Wickenburg tradition for 57 years.
McDowell Mountain Music Festival
Held at the Westworld Polo Grounds in Scottsdale, this festival brings together musicians who perform at this event which benefits local charities.
NASCAR Subway Fresh 500
Held at Phoenix International Raceway this NASCAR event becomes a city in the desert west of Phoenix for a week or more.
Scottsdale Culinary Festival
As the longest running festival of its kind in the United States, the Festival draws more than 40,000 visitors looking to enjoy fabulous food, fun, festivities and ideal weather!
May Events
Arizona Special Olympics Summer Games
Annual event that features persons with intellectual disabilities and closely-related developmental disabilities in sporting events to inspire and enhance their lives.
Queen Creek Peach Festival
This annual event is open to the public for a nominal fee on Saturday and Sunday throughout the month of May.
June Events
Grand Canyon State Games
The Grand Canyon State Games is a multi-sport Olympic Festival for Arizona amateur athletes of all ages and abilities.
July Events
Mighty Mud Mania
Mighty Mud Mania is the activity held as the culminating activity of all the Scottsdale Parks and Recreation summer programs. Mud pools and courses for all ages.
August Events
Arizona Home & Building Expo
Arizona’s premier home show in downtown Phoenix, the Home & Building Expo celebrates its 16th year and features more than 700 home-related products and services.
Mid-Autumn Moon Festival
Held at the Chinese Cultural Center, this annual event features dancing, singing, exhibitions and Chinese calligraphy plus food and beverages including traditional mooncakes.
September Events
Fiesta De La Familia
Rawhide celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with special events, food specials, performances and music.
October Events
Arizona State Fair
Hundreds of thousands of residents from across the state flock to the fair each year to enjoy its new foods, exhibits, and entertainment offerings.
Kokopelli Krush
Kool Jamz Dinners 5:00pm to 10:00pm with live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Mesa Storytelling Festival
The Valley’s largest storytelling event presents national, regional and youth talent to share a wide array of stories: folk tales, tall tales, myths, humor, great legends from all over the globe.
Rainbows Festival
The Festival is an urban street fair and festival to celebrate the great diversity of Phoenix. This celebration is held each year in downtown Phoenix in Heritage Square Park.
Tour de Scottsdale Bike Ride
An extraordinary cycling adventure that will circumnavigate the beautiful McDowell Mountains in North Scottsdale. The 70-mile race benefits The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy.
November Events
Fantasy of Lights
The APS Fantasy of Lights kicks off with a parade and Tempe's festively decorated 60' holiday tree lighting. Festivities include street entertainers, Santa Claus and a spectacular fireworks finale.
December Events
Nautical Parade of Lights at Canyon Lake
See the Nautical Parade of Lights with approximately 30 boats decorated with Christmas lights. Enjoy the parade while you indulge in dinner aboard the Dolly steamboat on Canyon Lake.
Fiesta Bowl Parade
Cap off the Arizona holiday season with a delightful pageantry of magnificent floats, glorious helium balloons, harmonious marching bands and spirited specialty and equestrian units.
Insight Bowl
The annual Insight Bowl is held in Sun Devil Stadium at Arizona State University in Tempe.
Arizona National Livestock Show
The Arizona National Livestock Show is the largest Livestock Show in the Southwest, an annual Phoenix tradition since 1948 with a reputation as a prestigious Show with warm hospitality.
Chandler Parade of Lights
Join with your friends and neighbors to enjoy a cool nighttime parade where every entry is decorated with colorful holiday lights and official lighting of the annual Tumbleweed Tree!
Las Noches de las Luminarias
